The Pirates have announced that pitching coach Joe Kerrigan and bench coach Gary Varsho have been fired.
Assistant pitching coach Ray Searage will be the teams interim pitching coach and long-time Pirates minor league coach Jeff Bannister will replace Varsho. GM Neal Huntington said that he and John Russell both agree that Kerrigan and Varsho are the right fit for the current team.
