TIOPS baseball Insider John Perrotto reports, the Pirates are considering trading for Luis Ayala, who has been designated for assignment.
Ayala, 31, was 1-2 with a 4.18 ERA in 28 games this season. He struck out 21 in 32 2/3 innings and walked eight.
