The Pittsburgh Pirates made two waiver claims this afternoon.
The team claimed 25 year old right handed pitcher Jeremy Hefner from the San Diego Padres and catcher Brian Jeroloman from the Toronto Blue Jays.
Hefner, 25, the Padres 5th round pick in 2007, went 9-7 with a 4.98 ERA for AAA Tucson last season. In 2010, Hefner went 11-8 with a 2.95 ERA for AA San Antonio. Hefner in 2011 had 120 strikeouts in 156.1 innings pitched.
