The Pittsburgh Pirates will open the 2012 season at home against the Philadelphia Phillies. The season opener is on Thursday, April 5.
The Pirates though will play 16 of their first 25 games on the road, including a 9 game west coast trip to Los Angeles, San Francisco and Arizona, following the season opening series vs Philadelphia.
The Pirates three interleague series at home are against Kansas City (June 8-10), Minnesota (June 19-21) and Detroit (22-24). The Pirates three road interleague series are against Detroit (May 18-20), Baltimore (June 12-14) and Cleveland (June 15-17).
The Pirates have an 11 game home stand in August.
The Pirates have home games on Memorial Day, July 4th and Labar Day. The Pirates end the season at home against the Atlanta Braves on October 3rd. They close out the season with a six game homestand against the Reds and Braves.
