The Pittsburgh Pirates have promoted outfielder Jose Tabata to Class AAA Indianapolis per John Perrotto.
Tabata is batting .303 with 2 home runs (15 doubles) and 25 RBI's in 61 games. Tabata's estimated arrival in the majors is 2010.
Tabata is batting .390 in his last 10 games and has been on a tear in the month of July.
Top prospect Pedro Alvarez went 2-for-3 Thursday night in the Curve's 5-1 loss.
