The Pittsburgh Pirates have announced they have agreed to terms with Washington Nationals pitcher Tony Armas. Armas, 28, made 30 starts last year for the Nationals winning 9 games with a ERA of 5.03. Don’t the Pirates already have Tony Armas and his name is Shaun Chacon. It’s nonsense for them to bring in a guy like Armas instead of giving a pitcher like Burnett a chance regain his spot in the rotation. Even if he isn’t ready he won’t do any better than Chacon or Armas The Pirates have to be the worst team in baseball at developing pitchers. They don’t give their pitchers a chance to start until they have received their social security checks.
