Starting pitcher Daniel McCutchen will make his Pirates debut on Monday against the Reds. McCutchen, who was acquired in last year's deal with the Yankees for Xavier Nady, nearly made the team out of spring training.
McCutchen's a player the Pirates are high on but he is no longer considered a prospect.
McCutchen, 26, has posted a 13-6 record with a 3.47 era for Class AAA Indianapolis.
