Starting safety Troy Polamalu is expected to be sidelined 4-6 weeks with an MCL sprain. Polamalu suffered the injury in the second quarter on a blocked punt.

this could be like the Gonchar injury all over again...we just have to "survive" and then pick up a pro-bowler mid way through the season...and we all know how that turned out for the pens :)

Polamalu is less of a loss than Woodley or Harrison. The drop off would be much more without them. That's not to say they are better than him, but there is less depth and more of an impact when either is out.

I don't know if I agree with that BillCitro. The loss of Polamalu changes the entire scheme of the defense. The Steelers can get pressure any number of ways, but Polamalu is a freakish athlete whom the scheme is basically built upon. Ben might be the only bigger loss in my opinion.

That is a huge blow to the D. Instead of being ridiculous, now they are only completely dominating. That hurts my fantasy squad enough though.

I don't know weimer, i think our D is still a top 5 defense in the league, but I don't think Tyrone Carter or Ryan Mundy should be a starting safety for multiple weeks

Florio writes stuff like that to get traffic to his site, that's how he works. In no way shape or form was that hit dirty. What is Harrison supposed to do, take his flag off him or two hand tag him. Give me a break. Who cares anyway.
