Post-Practice Notes
*Defenseman Brooks Orpik put the blame on the players who have been here all season for the Penguins struggles of late.
Orpik said “don’t blame the new guys from WBS…it’s the ‘guys who have been up all year who have been screwing up lately.”
The Penguins have been outscored 14-6 in their last two games.
Two of the new guys who are stepping up offensively for Pittsburgh is Brett Sterling and Nick Johnson. Sterling is regarded as a one dimensional player which is why he’s bounced around the minors but there’s no denying he can put the puck in the net.
*Kris Letang claims he doesn’t have a problem with Islanders centerman..

John Tavares failing to be suspended for that slash on his ankle. He says his ankle is fine now though.
*Pens enforcer Eric Godard was at the facility today and has 9 more games to serve for his suspension. Godard feels he had to do what he did and says he didn’t jump on the ice at the behest of the coaches and that he did it on his own.
*No new update on Sidney Crosby from the team but a source in Crosby’s camp indicated that he was still having headaches as recently as Saturday. Things have yet to progress for him.
