SOUTHPOINTE– After an off-day on Monday, the Penguins are back on the ice this morning at the Iceoplex complex.
The Penguins depleted lineup will remain in intact for at least one more game as the team travels this afternoon to Denver for tomorrow’s matchup with the Colorado Avalanche who have hit rock bottom.
None of the Penguins injured players are on the ice this morning and none will be returning for tomorrow’s game. Not practicing for the Penguins include Arron Asham, Eric Tangradi, Dustin Jeffrey, Chris Kunitz, Mark Letestu and of course Sidney Crosby.
Chris Kunitz remains sidelined with a lower body injury and will miss his 5th straight game.
As of last Wednesday, Kunitz was expected to be sidelined for around 7-10 days. The Penguins are hopeful he could return as early as Sunday afternoon in Chicago.
Dustin Jeffrey is scheduled to come off of IR on Sunday but his target date is likely next week, according to sources.
Meanwhile, Arron Asham’s remains off the ice and his inability to stay healthy has the Penguins exploring

a depth move on their third and 4th lines. Jarkko Ruutu is among the possibilities being explored, if the Senators asking price comes down.
Another depth player out there drawing interest league wide is Blues forward Brad Winchester.
