The California University of Pennsylvania football program held their pro-day this morning. The pro-day was headlined by draft prospects cornerback Terrence Johnson, wide receiver A.J. Jackson and Edinboro quarterback Trevor Harris.
A university source tells me the Jacksonville Jaguars, Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland Browns, and New Orleans Saints were the four NFL teams with representatives in attendance. Canadian Football League scouts were also in attendance.
Johnson (5-10, 190 lbs) has seen his stock on the rise in recent weeks and has kept his 40-time in the 4.48-4.50 range. Johnson is regarded as a potential late 5th round – 7th round pick. Johnson was profiled in the current issue of ESPN The Magazine by NFL draft guru Mel Kiper.
Johnson is represented by agent Joe Linta who also represents Pittsburgh’s Willie Colon. Johnson currently has a scheduled visit with the Baltimore Ravens and is lining up more visits.
Prior to today’s pro-day, wide receiver A.J. Jackson (Height: 6-6, Weight: 235) of Lehigh Acres, Fla had drawn interest from the Miami Dolphins and Carolina Panthers.
An university source tells me at least 10 teams have now expressed interested and Jackson had a good visit with the Philadelphia Eagles today.
Jackson had 101 receptions for 1424 yards and 18 touchdowns in a phenomenal senior season at California.
Jackson is JUCO transfer from Sequoia JC where he was a JUCO Player of the Year in 2007 and two-time All-PSAC player in 2008 and 2009.
Jackson is a candidate to get drafted in the late rounds but is also drawing significant interest from the CFL. Jackson will surely be in someones camp this summer.
