No. 1 prospect Tyler Glasnow shined Thursday night in holding Louisville to one hit in six shutout innings of work. Glasnow lowering his ERA to 0.81, struck out five batters and walked just two batters.
In six Triple-A starts Glasnow has allowed one earned run or less in all six starts and has been dominant over his last two starts with a 14/5 K/BB ratio and allowing just five hits and no runs in 12 1/3 innings.

Wow that’s actually a tough question, I would personally lean towards Kessel just because he is a Pen and that would add that little extra excitement but I think they will end the season pretty equal in production this year if both are healthy for 82 games.
ETA Mid-June. Unless they do something very un-Pirate like, expect that to be Glasnow’s arrival date. The last thing they should do is rush Glasnow as he is clearly a very special pitcher who still has some things to work on. It will be a very special day when he starts his first Major League game. Hope I can make the quick trip up to Pittsburgh for it when it happens.
So when does Glasnow make the jump? Next season?
I would expect it to be very similar to the Cole situation, he will be in camp but will start the year in AAA and get called up in late May or early June. He’ll end the season with only about 10-12 starts at the AAA level and we’ve all seen how Polanco has struggled after being rushed up after limited time at AAA, it’s taken him a full year to really get his feet under him.
