Three new teams have joined the Shanahan sweepstakes. Are the Penguins among them?

Shanahan has received interest from up to 6 teams and could sign by the weekend at the earliest. The Blues are believed to be prepared to make a $2.5 million a year offer but Shanahan wants to stay on the northeast. Shanahan met with the Flyers yesterday and is exploring the Bruins and Capitals as options. What about Pittsburgh? No offer has been made from the Penguins. Right now I would put the Penguins and Devils in the category of teams at the top of Shanahan‚Äôs wish list but those respective teams have shown minimal interest to this point. There is always the possibility that either team could make a play for Shanahan but as things stand now Pittsburgh doesn’t see Shanahan as a good fit.
