Penguins defenseman Dylan Reese is among seven Penguins to be placed on waivers today. The other notable player,

is winger Benn Ferriero who the Penguins feel could battle for a roster spot this season. Also placed on waivers is defenseman Alex Grant and forwards Phillipe Dupuis, Trevor Smith, Riley Holzapfel and Warren Peters. The reasoning for placing the seven players on waivers is for them to play in the AHL during the lockout. The Penguins will not risk Robert Bortuzzo, Brian Strait or Eric Tangradi on waivers.
