Vic Carucci of NFL.com reports, the New England Patriots are primed to acquire Panthers star defensive end Julius Peppers in-exchange for the second round pick (34th overall) that the Patriots received in the Matt Cassel trade.
According to the report, the two sides are hopeful to finalize a deal before the draft. Peppers would play opposite OLB Adalius Thomas
The Patriots have already made major changes to their roster after an 11-5 non-playoff season.
