Whether this deal impacts negotiations between the Steelers and Jeff Reed remains to be seen.
As of last week, sources close to Jeff Reed were optimistic that a deal would be agreed upon before the end of the scouting combine as the belief is that the Steelers are prepared to offer $2.25-$2.45 million per season.
Reed made $1.35 million last season and the Steelers offered $1.75 million over four years, prior to the regular season opener that was declined.
Don Henderson, Jeff Reed’s Atlanta based agent, is meeting with Steelers representatives on Friday of this week.
