The New York Post reports, the New York Rangers will likely part ways with 24 year old winger Nikolai Zherdev, if the inconsistent winger receives a nickle more than the $3.25 million qualifying offer he received from the Rangers.
Zherdev who is seeking upwards of $4 million per season, filed for arbitration this week.
Parting ways with Zherdev would not come as a surprise as the Rangers actively shopped Zherdev during the NHL draft

The Rangers remain in the Saku Koivu and Sergei Zubov sweepstakes. According to reports the Rangers are involved in trade talks with the Dallas Stars about Brad Richards and the San Jose Sharks about Patrick Marleau.
