The National Hockey League has suspended Robert Bortuzzo two games for his hit on Jaromir Jagr. Patrick Burke of the NHL Department of Player Safety, called the hit “late and violent.”
Burke cited the “extreme lateness, predatory nature, and significant head contact in way hit was delivered,” as among primary reasons for the hit being illegal.
The NHL determined Bortuzzo had ample to pull up and not deliver the hit as he was fully aware Jagr had moved the puck.
