The Pittsburgh Steelers outgained the Jacksonville Jaguars 415 – 213 but they needed a late 4th quarter drive to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 26-21 and improve to 4-1 on the season. Ben Roethlisberger was phenomenal throwing for 309 yards and 3 touchdowns. Late in the fourth quarter Roethlisberger led the Steelers on a 11 play – 80 yard drive and hit Hines Ward on a 8 yard fade pass to put the Steelers up by 5 with 1:53 remaining.
Roethlisberger misfired on the 2-point conversion, but Pittsburgh’s defense sealed the win as the Jaguars turned the ball over on downs. Roethisberger finished the night going 26-41 and snapped the Steelers four game losing streak against Jacksonville. Steelers running back Willie Parker was sidelined for the second consecutive game but the Steelers didn‚Äôt miss a beat. Third down back Mewelde Moore ran 17 times for 99 yards to go along with 3 receptions for 17 yards. The Steelers rushed for a total of 129 yards on the night.

Roethlisberger who was intercepted on the Steelers first drive threw for 237 yards and two touchdowns in the first half. Down 20-14 in the second half, the Jaguars made some key stops defensively and were the beneficiaries of a Ryan Clark personal foul penalty. Moments after Clarks third down penalty, Garrard hit Marcedes Lewis over the middle for a 24-yard score. The Jaguars didn’t rattle Roethlisberger & co and the Steelers showed resilience fighting back on the road and overcoming injuries to get a big win and to take control of the AFC North. The Steelers are on a bye in week 6 and play at Cincinnati (0-5) in week 7
