Insider Only Rutherford suddenly determined to resign Marc Andre Fleury?

When hired Jim Rutherford was said to have been strongly undecided about whether to commit long-term to Marc Andre Fleury, a reason Rutherford opted not to engage into contract talks this summer with Fleury’s agent Allan Walsh.
However, is Rutherford already having a change of heart?

When the two sides decide to initiate talks, talk in NHL circles already is Walsh has his sights set on a 6 year deal worth $36 – $38 million and believes he can get Fleury $6 million per as a UFA.
Pittsburgh is expected to be more interested in a shorter term deal, in the three to four year range.
Fleury is making $5.75 million this season with a $5 million cap hit.
