Ryan Miller suffers high ankle injury; Out Indefinitely

The Buffalo Sabres beat the New York Rangers Saturday night 4-2 to move into 7th place in the Eastern Conference. The loss was costly as starter goaltender Ryan Miller will be out indefinitely with an high ankle injury. The early prognosis has Miller sidelined for¬†5-6 weeks.

I'm going to say Montreal and Florida are locks and the Pens and Sabres get the last two spots, we finish 7 and finally the matchup AO vs. Malkin and Crosby in the playoffs

the teams we are catching, are steady or falling, we are the team on the rise. Also considering the space between 4th and 8th seed currently, I dont think its unrealistic to see a 4th or 5th seed for the pens if they get on a roll here.

Steve-O, completely agree. We are only 7 points behind the cryers and they currently hold the 4th spot. So we could get that 4th seed if we get on a roll and to think a couple of weeks ago alot of people said we wouldn't even make the playoffs.

I see the flyers holding onto the fourth seed theyve only played 57 games to our 60. I do see the pens in that 5th seed though as long as we play the type of hockey we are capable of.

Tighten up the D a little bit and we're good to go. I like the uptempo style, but we can't give up 4 goals a game. IHCDB has only had a few practices, I have faith they'll get it sorted out and put together some wins.

If the D tightens up we could be very dangerous. MAF always seems to play his best late in the season so I think he'll start rolling soon. If Shero adds a piece or two at the deadline that works with this system we might just be able to get back to the SCF. But let's not think about that and just take it one game at a time.

Agreed themill, one game at a time. Tomorrow is a big game, beating the Caps will give the Pens a confidence boost for sure. Am I the only one that dislikes the 12:30 start time? That's just not a hockey time to me...Apparently ESPN is getting back into hockey as early as next season, anyone heard anything else?

That's what I heard Mon. If that happens that just might help out the league revenue which would help the salary cap situation. Plus putting hockey back on national tv instead of versues would get the game out to more viewers. Hopefully that's the case. Also I agree with you on the Caps game. A win should give them a huge boost.

I have direct tv they have the nhl network that is awsome. they broadcast hoceynight in canada. but the more hockey on tv im all for it. espn needs to get a beter group of anaylists though.
