The Orange County Register reports Anaheim Ducks General Manager Brian Burke has denied a report from the New York Post that the Anaheim Ducks are pursuing Rangers forward Brendan Shanahan. The Rangers front office remains split on what to do with Shanahan but a source indicates the Rangers will make an offer in the $1.5 million range. Shanahan’s focus remains on New York but is seeking $2.25 - $2.5 million per season. The St.Louis Blues have been keeping a close eye on the Shanahan situation. The Blues are believed to be prepared to offer Shanahan a contract in excess of $3 million per season. Sources indicate the New Jersey Devils are not interested despite what the New York Post is reporting.
