Crosby undergoes wrist surgery
Will the Pittsburgh Penguins be without not just Evgeni Malkin but also Sidney Crosby to start the season?
[hide] It is surely headed that way as the 34 year old Crosby underwent left wrist surgery today in New York, the Penguins announced.
The team says Crosby will be sidelined a minimum of six weeks. Barring a faster than expected recovery, Crosby will miss the start of the regular season as will Evgeni Malkin who is recovering from knee surgery.
Penguins GM Ron Hextall says in a released statement that Crosby has been dealing with the injury for a while.
“This is not a new injury for Sid, “ said Hextall. “It is something that he has played through for years. After exhausting all minimally-invasive options and much discussion, it was decided that surgery was in his best interest.”[/hide]
Crosby rarely does something stupid…well this is it !! Totally agree with you tbj this should have been done in July at the latest…
This puts us behind the 8 ball right off the bat and our first 4 games are hard…
At Tampa, at Florida, home to Chicago (AND FLEURY) and home to Philadelphia. that could easily be 0 – 4 to start the season.
If it’s a six week turnaround time, why wasn’t this done in the summer? I get trying other stuff first, but ffs…
Boyle busted his wrist so he can get a job.
Well he knows how to make the team…. He is a shoe in now..!!
