Latest update on Worilds contract talks
The Pittsburgh Steelers are inching closer to a deal with 2nd round pick Jason Worilds but contrary to other reports, there will be no agreement reached between the two sides today, sources tell Inside Pittsburgh Sports.
Worilds and the Steelers will finalize a four year deal worth $3.7 million at somepoint tomorrow but as talks concluded today, there was no agreement reached as the two sides are still working out a few details.
A team contact expects an agreement to be reached by early Thursday afternoon and an official announcement to be made later in the day.
An interesting dynamic in contract negotiations for second round picks this year is the playtime bonuses that can be included into the deal for years one, two, and three.
The playtime bonuses are not included for players drafted in rounds three-through-seven.
