Sykora highly interested in Philadelphia; TB still in the mix?
Despite a strong push from Ryan Malone to join the Tampa Bay Lightning, Petr Sykora’s first choice is to join the Philadelphia Flyers, sources tell Inside Pittsburgh Sports.
The Flyers have been in constant contact with Sykora’s camp and have discussed two different concepts of a potential deal.
The Flyers have been eyeing Sykora as a replacement for Joffrey Lupul.
The former Pittsburgh Penguins winger scored 25 goals last season but struggled for the second half of the season, scoring only 5 goals in 33 games.
The Flyers are aggressively trying to move salary to land Sykora. Sykora also remains in contact with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Other teams to express interest recently are the Florida Panthers, New Jersey Devils and the Detroit Red Wings.
Contrary to a report, a source close to Satan’s camp tells me the Flyers have no interest in Miroslav Satan.
