Post-Game Notes
*Outfielder John Raynor went 2-for-2 with 1 RBI and 2 runs scored. Raynor’s whose versatility is valued by the organization is proving his doubters wrong at the plate in the early stages of spring training.
In 6 games, Raynor is batting .538 and is the early front runner to win the No. 5 outfielder spot.
The Pirates like his ability to play all three outfield positions and the concern from the organization is whether he can hit.
*Reliever D.J. Carrasco continues his dominant spring. Carrasco pitched 2 scoreless innings, surrendering one hit and added 4 strikeouts. Carrasco has a 0.00 ERA this spring.
*Shortstop Ronny Cedeno (.214) has not hit the ball well in spring but is feeling some heat from Bobby Crosby. Cedeno had a good day at the plate this afternoon, going 2-for-3 with 1 run scored.
Meanwhile, Bobby Crosby continues to swing the bat well, going 2-4, with an RBI and 2 doubles against the Yankees. Crosby who has been used at shortstop and first base this spring, is batting .333 this spring. Crosby was the Pirates DH this afternoon.
