Pittsburgh Penguins center Jordan Staal (foot) went through his first individual on-ice workout this morning at the Consol Energy Center. Staal did some light skating with strength and conditioning coach Mike Kadar about an hour before the Penguins are due to hit the ice this morning for their 10:30 a.m. morning skate.
It was the first time that the 5th year veteran has been on the ice in months.
For a light skate, Staal looked….

okay and wasn’t favoring his right left. It’s a good first step for Staal who remains out indefinitely. He is not expected to return until November and will be sidelined for several weeks.
Staal was cleared to workout last week and the key for Staal is getting his leg back to full strength.
