Insider Only Staal’s match penalty rescinded by league, will play tonight

Just spoke to Jordan Staal’s agent Paul Krepelka.

Krepelka told me he “believes” that Staal’s match penalty was rescinded by the league but the sides awere waiting for official confirmation. There has been a lot of confusion going around regarding Staal’s status but he is expected to be able to play tonight, according to Krepelka.
A Pens PR member told me just after 12:00 p.m., that the team will make an announcement regarding Staal when they hear from the league.
With the callup of Eric Tangradi, the Penguins have a full lineup of 12 healthy forwards tonight.
Also of notes, Evgeni Malkin skated again this morning and will return to the lineup this week (expected Friday night). Malkin was put on injured reserve today to make room for the callup of Eric Tangradi.
Here’s a look at the Pens projected lineup
Cooke – Staal – Kennedy
Kunitz – Jeffrey – Dupuis
Rupp – Talbot – Conner
Tangradi – Adams – Godard
Defensemen
Orpik – Letang
Martin – Michalek
Goligoski – Engelland/Lovejoy
