As expected Byron Leftwich has been resigned by the Pittsburgh Steelers and rejoined the team today.
According to those close to Leftwich, the veteran QB has had no setbacks with his injured knee and remains on track to return to the field this weekend.
Leftwich has been eyeing the Steelers week 3 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccanneers as a target date. With Dennis Dixon injuring his knee during the second quarter of Sunday’s game, Leftwich is considered the likely starter against Tampa Bay if he gets through another full week of practice.
The Steelers will make a roster move in the next 24 hours.
