Bodden is getting severely overrated these days. He would be a decent starter though, and is a huge upgrade to william 'cant cover' gay.

hopefully would solidify the secondary a little. i would keep me main concern in drafting the best corner in the draft.

Isn't Dunta Robinson also a FA? I'm sure he will demand more salary than what we will shell out, but its another name to toss into the hat.

Jets got Cromartie for a 3rd round pick, could turn in to a 2nd. I know it's not the Steelers' style, but that would have been nice.

Cromartie isn't very good. He had one good year and has been a dissappointment ever since. If he was good, they would have kept him because they have no one else in SD to take his spot. I've proved on other threads that Dunta Robinson is supremely over rated. Let ATL pay him big time bucks for his mediocre performances.

Cro is a boom or bust corner.Half hearted but will occasionally make a play.

I'm sorry but you don't trade corners in this league for a 3rd round draft pick if they are as good as people make Cromartie out to be.

He would instantly be the best conerback this team has seen in years, that's for sure. He's playing for a new contract. It's a risk/reward move that could go either way.

Cromartie will be a lot better in the Jets system with Revis on the other side. He'll get plenty of safety help, and he'll likely look like a star.

Agreed Jaluco. He will be decent in their system. I don't know how much Rex Ryan is going to like his resistance to at least attempt a tackle but we'll see.

Robinson is apparentlt going to sign in ATL

Revis will make any corner look good haha, man i wish we got him.... anyways, i would welcome bodden, him and ike would sure up the backfield a little more than what it is now, maybe a 3 yr deal, that way we could draft a cb and let him grow

I think Robinson is a pile of crap anyway.

Jaluco, don't offend a pile of crap like that. A pile of crap could defend better than Robinson.

Not to mention a pile of crap can cover better than william gay, hhhmmmmmmmm maybe we should sign crap, there would be no drop off

So since he can cover better than William Gay he deserves $9mm a year? That's perfect logic.

Reminds me of a the raffi torres discussions - giving up assets (in this case, budgeted dollars) to make a lateral move. No thanks.

Go to this website and check out Robinson's year last year. Downright bad. http://profootballfocus.com/by_position.php?tab=by_position&season=2009&pos=CB&stype=r&runpass=&teamid=-1&numsnaps=25&numgames=1

I for one am very glad Torres won't be pulling on a Pens sweater, unles it is on a holding call as Sid blows by him.

cromartie would not be the best cb this team has had in years. Taylor is much better all around, but Cromartie can catch. His lack of run support effort would make him worthless on the Steelers.

Perfectly said Deesh. But he's an overhyped name! Why not waste money and draft picks on him?
Deesh, you may be right, but with McFadden AND Ike the Steelers CB's were formitable, Ike and Billy Gay were laughable.

If Cromartie is overhyped, what does that make Ike? Because I have not been impressed with Ike for almost his entire career.

Cromartie is living off of one good year. he has Deion Sanders toughness and tackling ability. Actually DeAngelo Hall is the better fit.

I am a huge fan of Ike Taylor. I will absolutely not defend his ability to catch the ball, because that's a no contest. But he's big, physical, fast, and willing to hit. He has been for years, and I'm not convinced he won't be going forward as well. People who rip on him may want to stop and consider that it was Scott and Washington prior to him.

Washington was loved by Steeler fans, and yet Qadry Ismael (wtf!) lit him up for 6 catches, 256 yards, 3 touchdowns. In one game. From Tony Banks. Ike Taylor never gets used like that.
