Chase Claypool Traded to the Bears

The Pittsburgh Steelers have traded third year wide receiver Chase Claypool to the Chicago Bears for a 2023 Second-Round Pick. It was first reported by Field Yates of ESPN.

The Steelers brass in recent weeks determined Claypool was not going to be a big part of their future that led to the decision by General Manager Omar Khan to jump at the chance of the market being hot for Claypool. A second round pick, especially a likely early second rounder from the Bears, is a terrific return for Claypool as the Steelers are not winning anytime soon with or without Claypool.

Multiple teams were in the mix for Claypool who has 32 catches for 311 yards and a touchdown this season. After nine touchdowns in a standout rookie season, Claypool has underwhelmed since the offensive coordinator change to Matt Canada.
