Steelers bring in Ramsey, Bouman
The Pittsburgh Steelers worked out veteran QB’s Patrick Ramsey and Todd Bouman on Thursday. Ramsey, a former first round pick was cut by Tennessee last month. Bouman, 37, a former Vikings backup, played briefly for Baltimore last season.
The workout with Patrick Ramsey went well I’m told and the Steelers could look to sign Ramsey by early next week. The Steelers are expected to make a final decision on Charlie Batch (wrist surgery) by Monday.
Batch had surgery on Wednesday and if doctors come to the conclusion that he can return in two weeks, the Steelers will opt against putting Batch on injured reserve.
If Batch is unable to return in that timetable, the Steelers have no plans of going into the stretch run without a veteran backup. Tyler Palko is nothing more than an extra arm in practice.
