Steelers place transition tag on Jason Worilds

The Pittsburgh Steelers have placed the transition tag on outside linebacker Jason Worilds. The tender is the average of the top 10 salaries and guarantees Worilds a one year, $9.754 million contract.
Worilds the top outside linebacker set to hit the open market was regarded as being good as gone unless the Steelers tagged him. Making Worilds a transition player gives the Steelers the right to match any offer.
