To no surprise, the Pittsburgh Steelers have expressed interest in former special teams coach Bobby April.
The two sides are believed to have conducted a formal interview over the weekend as the Steelers are looking to replace Bob Ligashesky.
April, 56, is regarded as one of the top special teams coaches in the league.
April was the Steelers special teams coordinator from 1994-1995 before having a fallout with former head coach Bill Cowher.
There appears to be a mutual interest from both sides but Pittsburgh has not offered the job to April to this point.
April will interview with the Washington Redskins and the Detroit Lions have also expressed interest.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is expected to conduct 2-to-3 interviews this week, with coaches from the college ranks also being discussed. Assistant special teams Amos Jones is also under consideration.
April is seeking top "assistant" money for his position and is also looking for an opportunity
