Steelers nab Miami cornerback

FullSizeRender (8)The Pittsburgh Steelers selected a cornerback in the first round for the first time in 19 years, drafting Miami’s Artie Burns (6-0, 193).

Burns just 20 years old had 36 tackles and 6 interceptions for Miami in 2015. He’s long and rangy with great ball skills and runs well (4.40 forty).

The draft board saw several defensive backs linked to the Steelers go before pick No. 25 with the Cincinnati Bengals pulling a Ravens/Maxx Williams and jumping ahead of the Steelers to take William Jackson III at No. 24.

Eli Apple went 10th overall to the Giants, West Virginia’s Karl Joseph going 14th overall to Oakland. [/hide]
