Steelers sign second round pick Mike Adams

The Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to terms with second round pick Mike Adams on a four year deal.
Adams is the fourth draft pick to sign as the team has agreed to terms with 4th round pick Alameda Ta’Amu, 5th round pick Chris Rainey and 7th round pick Toney Clemons. The team has five more draft choices to sign. The Steelers are close to finalizing a deal with third rounder Sean Spence, among others.
Bruce Irvin of the Seattle Seahawks and Melvin Ingram, San Diego Chargers are among the first rounders to sign so far. The Steelers should have a deal in place with first round pick David DeCastro soon.
Adams deal was negotiated by agent Eric Metz who is from the Pittsburgh area and no signing bonus money was deferred, contrary to reports on draft day that Adams told teams he would defer his signing bonus for at least a year due to his troubles off the field.
Adams is viewed as the Steelers long-term left tackle with expectations that he should push for a starting spot by the 2013 season. He could be developed as a swing tackle in 2012.
