The Steelers eyeing a veteran running back, are hosting former Jacksonville Jaguars star running back Maurice Jones-Drew today, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Jones-Drew, 28, averaged a career-low 3.4 yards per carry, rushing for 803 yards and 5 touchdowns in 2013.
Jones-Drew is just two years removed from leading the league in rushing in 2011 with 1,606 yards. He held out in 2012 and then suffered through an injury-plagued season, rushing for 414 yards (4.8 YPC) in six games.
Jones-Drew made $4.85 million last season.
The Steelers have also expressed preliminary interest in resigning Larod Stephens-Howling, according to an NFL source.
