Happy Thanksgiving to everyone
A few Steelers quick hits
Updated 5:05 p.m. – As expected the Steelers have officially signed Najeh Davenport. Willie Parker’s knee is showing improvement and did practice today. Cornerback Deshea Townsend went through a full practice for a second consecutive day. The Steelers have released cornerback Roy Lewis to make room for Davenport.
The Steelers will sign Najeh Davenport for Sunday’s game if Parker’s knee does not show improvement today. Parker did not practice yesterday and I would be very surprised if Parker plays. Davenport has been at the Steelers facility this week and could be officially signed by the afternoon once Parker’s knee gets evaluated today.
Deshea Townsend was listed as doubtful earlier in the week but did go through a full-practice yesterday. Townsend is pushing to play and that may be very good news because there is speculation that Bryant McFadden is not trying to rush back from his injury. Dale Lolley speculates that McFadden’s agent, “Drew Rosenhaus, has been in his client’s ear about returning to quickly and getting hurt.” Free agency¬†could be¬†on McFadden’s mind.
