Steelers to sign free safety Mike Mitchell to 5 year – $25 million deal

You can call Ryan Clark’s tenure with the Steelers now officially over. The Steelers will be going younger at the free safety position in 2014, agreeing to a deal with Carolina Panthers safety Mike Mitchell. Mitchell had 66 tackles in 2013 and flashed some playmaking ability in 14 starts. Mitchell had 4 interceptions, 3.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles in 2013.
Updated: 7:05 pm – ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Mitchell received a 5 year – $25 million contract.
