PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers' offensive backfield went from being among the team's deepest positions to the thinnest.
With starting running back Rashard Mendenhall placed on the Reserve-Injured list due to an ACL tear in his right knee, second-year player Isaac Redman and rookie John Clay are the only healthy players with experience. Veteran third-down back Mewelde Moore (left knee sprain) has missed the past two weeks, but said he'd return for the playoffs. That doesn't appear to be the case now.
"I'd like to get some work in practice this week, but we'll see,'' Moore said.
