Frank Summers, one of the Steelers 2009 5th round picks has agreed to sign with the Steelers practice squad, a league source tells me.
A disappointed Summers was informed on Friday that he was being released but Summers was told by Steelers management that they wanted him on the practice squad and would have an opportunity to get back on the 53-man roster.
Summers I’m told turned down other practice squad opportunities because he believes that he has unfinished business here in Pittsburgh.
The 12:00 p.m. waiver deadline has passed and the Steelers will be finalizing their entire practice squad by the end of the day.
The following players are eligible for the practice squad:

Kraig Urbik, Doug Worthington, Sunny Harris, Tyler Grisham, Steve McLendon, Dorian Brooks, Eugene Bright, Da’Mon Cromartie-Smith, Kyle Jolly, and Justin Thornton.
