Sunday Morning Report

Breaking NFL news

Wr Antwaan Randle has bolted the Steelers and agreed to terms with the Washington Redskins. Very surprising they landed him because the Skins just traded for talented reciever Brandon Llyold of the 49ers

Running back Edgerrin James has signed with the Arizona Cardnals. The Cards have lots of money to spend and cornerback Charles Woodson is also on their radar.

Drew Brees met with the Dolphins and Saints. The Saints can offer more money but expect him to land in South Beach

Pittsburgh 61 – Syracuse 65

Pitt came up short for it’s 2nd big east championship in 4 years. To many missed oppurtunites is what cost them. Aaron Gray was terrible once again. He couldn’t finish if the hoop was the size of the atlantic ocean. The positives out of the tournament is Antonio Graves is a big time three point threat. He was phenominal the whole tournament. Ramon and Fields also looked very good. Krauser has played okay but is just to erratic at end of games. One thing you can’t knock him on is crazy Carl does not quit. Sam Young needs to play more than he does. I would even like to see Young and Kendall tandem down low and put Gray on the bench.

As for the NCAA tournament, this Pitt team looks like it has the making of finally getting past the sweet 16. It has the depth but most important it looks like it has a player in Graves who can make big shots. Don’t count this team out, we may very well see a special run like what we saw from the Steelers

Penguins rout Devils 6-3

The Pittsburgh Penguins played Saturday night like we thought they were going to play coming into the season. Sidney Crosby scored 2 goals and came close on a number of occassions of getting his first hat trick in his career. New comer Andy Hilbert scored his first goal as a Pen from a beautiful passes from Tomas Surovy. Ryan Malone, Colby Armstrong and Quellet also scored. Marc Andre Fluery was solid in the net. He made crucial saves in the second period to secure the Pens leave. I was encouraged with that the Penguins didn’t let the Devils get close to compressing a comeback. With a young team, one key is to learn to hold onto a lead and they did a excellent job of playing a team game. Next game is tonite against the Flyers.
