The New York Giants did it again to the New England Patriots with a last minute fourth quarter rally, defeating the Patriots 21-17 in Super Bowl XLVI for their second Super Bowl Title in four years.
Eli Manning led the Giants on yet another magical scoring drive. Trailing 17-15 and taking over at their own 12 yard line with 3:46 remaining, Eli Manning connected with Mario Manningham on a 38-yard pass down the left sideline on first down and the Giants drove 88 yards on 9 plays, capped off by a 6-yard touchdown run by Ahmad Bradshaw to take a 21-17 lead with 57 seconds left
On Bradshaws touchdown run, the Patriots let him score and Bradshaw wanted to stop at the 1-yard line but fell backwards into the end zone in what many pundits were calling a major gaffe giving Tom Brady time.
However, with just one timeout and under a minute to play, Brady who set a Super Bowl record with 16 straight completions earlier in the game, was unable to drive the Patriots down the field for the game winning score as a hail mary attempt from the Patriots 49-yard line fell imcomplete, sealing the Giants fourth Super Bowl Title.
Manning the Super Bowl MVP went 30 of 40 for 296 yards with 1 touchdown and a 103.8 Qb rating. Hakeem Nicks had 10 receptions for 109 yards, while Mario Manningham had 5 receptions for 73 yards, highlighted by his 38-yard sideline grab on the Giants game winning score.
Tom Brady in the loss was 27 of 41 for 276 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 Int .The Patriots are 0-2 in the Super Bowl since spygate.
