Has Marc Andre Fleury gone from day-to-day to being out for 4-5 weeks? Plus the latest speculation and more

Source: Fleury out 3-5 weeks: I hate to speculate on injuries but multiple sources have told me the buzz around the Penguins locker room yesterday was Marc Andre Fleury will likely be out another 3 weeks and some were hearing that he could be out for up to 6 weeks. One source talked directly to an agent (not Fleury’s) but whose client is impacted by Fleury’s injury who says he was told last week at the minimum Fleury will be out for 3 weeks with 6 weeks being the high end. As for the guess of what kind of injury Fleury has, the growing consensus is he suffered a groin injury while some are hearing he has a lower back injury. The Penguins are being very quiet and Fleury’s agent has also been very quiet compared to Roberto Luongo’s agent who told TSN.Ca yesterday that Luongo would be out for 4-5 weeks and was specific about Luongo’s injury.
Power Play Units
1st PP Kennedy – Crosby – Satan
Goligoski – Malkin
2nd PP Cooke – Staal – Sykora
Letang – Boucher
Whitney continues to progress ahead of schedule: Ryan Whitney went through another full practice and I expect him to be back in the lineup by atleast December 8th when the Penguins host the Buffalo Sabres. Once Whitney returns things will get interesting.
Fedotenko in the doghouse: Ruslan Fedotenko remains on the fourth line. Max Talbot skated with Crosby – Satan yesterday and Pascal Dupuis skated with Malkin – Sykora
Guerin a potential trade deadline target?
The Penguins take on the New York Islanders Wednesday night and a player to keep an eye on is Bill Guerin ( 8 goals – 7 assists – 15 points). Guerin a likely trade candidate this season, provided the Islanders with 6 teams he would welcome a trade to and Pittsburgh is among the six teams according to a source with connections to the Islanders. Two years ago Pittsburgh had interest in Guerin in free agency but Guerin’s asking price was too high. Trading within the division is rare but Garth Snow is not scared to trade within the division. The Penguins and Islanders had talks last year at the trade deadline about Miroslav Satan.
Isles, Hawks scouting Pesonen: The New York Islanders and Chicago Blackhawks have been scouting Janne Pesonen in recent weeks
Anaheim who have been scouting Rob Scuderi and Phillipe Boucher are not interested in defenseman Mark Eaton who continues to be a frequent scratch. Pittsburgh has no intentions on moving Rob Scuderi according to a source. The Lightning, Blackhawks and Canucks have made inquires on Mark Eaton.
