Three Penguins prospects made ESPN’s Top 100 prospect rankings which were released today by Corey Pronman.
Kasperi Kapanen No. 15
Derrick Pouliot No. 29
Scott Harrington No. 54.
Pronman’s rankings are consistent with how I wrote last week that most scouts feel Kasperi Kapanen has now emerged as the Penguins consensus No. 1 prospect over Derrick Pouliot.
Nice to see Harrington get some deserved recognition after being previously unranked in Pronman’s rankings. Inside the NHL, Harrington is not overlooked but he has been by many other publications.
Case in point, NHL.com last week in their 30-for-30 on the Penguins, had Harrington ranked as the Penguins 7th best prospect. There are scouts who feel Harrington is an even better prospect than Pouliot.
We’ll be releasing our Top-25 Penguins prospects list in early September.
