The Philadelphia Flyers have a strong interest in Penguins defenseman Hal Gill according to a league source.
Gill who becomes a unrestricted free agent on July 1, had a cap hit of $2.1 million in 08-09.
The Flyers efforts for now is preparing a package to acquire the rights of Jay Bouwmeester at the draft.
Minnesota Wild GM Chuck Fletcher is expected to be active at the draft. Fletcher is beleived to have his eye on Leafs defenseman Tomas Kaberle.
As for Marian Gaborik, the two sides will meet on Tuesday when Gaborik’s agent Ron Salcer returns from vacation.
Speaking of Fletcher, he will get his name on the Stanley Cup.
John Glennon reports, talks between the Predators and forward Steve Sullivan will not pick up until draft weekend and talks could go down until the 11th hour.
Sullivan has missed parts of the past two seasons but averaged a point per game in his final 25 games and finished the season with 32 points in 41 games.
