• The Pittsburgh Steelers committed a $30 million contract to Marcus Gilbert this summer, something of a desperation signing due to the organizations lack of talent at the tackle position and as expected, head coach Mike Tomlin came to the defense of Gilbert today. “I’m not concerned about Marcus and his ability to rebound,” Tomlin said today at his weekly press conference. “I expect him to come back fighting like Rocky.” Gilbert was beaten for two sacks by Ravens OLB Elvis Dumervil and the week before struggled mightily against Cleveland’s Paul Kruger. “If you play 60 + plus snaps and you give up two sacks, it’s a bad game,” Tomlin said. “That’s the nature of our business, and I’m sure as a tackle that’s a challenge Marcus embraces.”
