Top prospect Simon Despres, the Penguins 2009 first round pick will make his NHL debut tomorrow night vs the Washington Capitals.

Despres was informed this evening that he is coming up for tomorrow night’s game and the transaction will be made official with the NHL in the morning.
The Penguins will be without Kris Letang and Zbynek Michalek for the second straight game. Both remain in Pittsburgh for evaluation due to possible headaches.
The callup of Despres will force the Penguins make a roster move and Alexandre Picard is expected to be sent down.
Despres has 3 goals and 7 assists in 22 game played for Wilkes Barre/Scranton. He is a +3 on the season.
In his first professional season, Despres play has been up and down according to evaluators who say he has struggled with his consistency at times, like most young defenseman do.
