Two Penguinsâ pre-season games will be televised locally, the team announced today.
The Pensâ Saturday, Sept. 25 game against the Columbus Blue Jackets at CONSOL Energy Center will be carried live by WPCW â Pittsburghâs CW. Game time is 7 p.m.
The Tuesday, Sept. 28 home game against the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks will be shown on tape delay by FSN Pittsburgh. Game time is 7 p.m. and the broadcast will be aired following the Piratesâ post-game show that night.
FSNâs Paul Steigerwald and Bob Errey will call the action for both games. The Sept. 25 game is being shown on Pittsburghâs CW because of a scheduling conflict at FSN, the teamâs regional television network.
âIt will be an honor for us to televise the first pre-season game from CONSOL Energy Center,â said Chris Pike, Vice President and General Manager of KDKA-TV and Pittsburghâs CW. âWeâre especially excited because that is the âUltimate Home Game,â where the stands will be filled by students and youth hockey players.â
All 82 of the Penguins regular season games will be televised with a minimum 71 games on FSN Pittsburgh in high definition.
