Tyler Kennedy suspended for one game

Pittsburgh Penguins’ forward Tyler Kennedy has been suspended for one game, without pay, for his involvement in an altercation during a stoppage in play during NHL Game #734, Jan. 31 against the Toronto Maple Leafs, the National Hockey League announced. Kennedy was suspended per Rule 70.2
which states: ‚ÄúA player who has entered the game on a legal line change… who starts an altercation may be subject to discipline …‚Äù.
Kennedy was assessed a five-minute major for fighting Toronto defenseman Luke Schenn following a legal line change at 9:36 of the third period. Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Kennedy will forfeit $2,912.37. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
